Summertime

We haven't had much of a summer but
but when it got hot, we sure know how to cool off! We run to the pool!
Water is his sport next to playing ball with his Daddy!
But today, he spent the day with his cousin and Uncle in the pool learning how to swim. In no time, he knew how to dog paddle! Enjoyed every minute in the water...even though it was cold!

This was his first summer and definitely not the last learning how to swim.
Funny...ever since I've lived here...I haven't really utilized the pool...
I think we'll be at the pool more now especially with the little one just as long we live here...

He's toddling...

Little j is now into his toddler years...mastering new skills and growing into a little boy. He's always on the go...where, I don't know, but he's always in a rush to take off. Big J (the hubby) is following right behind the little boy...luckily he's an athlete otherwise little j would leave him in the dust.

Luckily food has never been too much of a problem. His pallet is beyond baby food... loves to try new things. He can eat a whole peach even after a full meal!

He's definitely a healthy eater.

We're lucky that he's not too picky especially when we go out...we want him to experience fine dining like Sizzler and Ihop. Daddy likes to take Mommy out whenever he can especially on his payday to his favorite local places.

Most of all, little j loves meeting new people and faces. He's very personable. Wants to greet you with wave and a smile. He may even try to follow you!

He hopes to see you soon...

Child Proofing

When you have kids, parents are warned to child proof their home as soon as you child begins to crawl.

We had took all the safety precautions and put bumpers on sharp edges, removed furniture out of the house, covered plugs, etc to prevent accidents and injuries.

Kids are much smarter than you think!

They will test the limits and challenge you...

Our little j had showed us that those bumper thingys don't work. One day he popped out those plug safety cap covers and gave it to me! Gates, pssha...that doesn't keep him out. He figures his way out (or even in!). No mater how safe it can be, watch them carefully. Kids will get into everything.

When the house is quiet you know he was up to something...that's when
you check.

Luckily I had caught him in the act!

He pouts his lips when he knows he's in trouble and he seems to know when he is. Can't blame it on another sibling just yet.

Are we ready for another one? Question is, are we up to the challenge?
Yes.

Jimmy's One Liners

We were watching OctoMom-The missing footage...and Jimmy breaks out with "you are Uno-Mom"

Hectic life....

Jimmy and I were working 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week... leaving Sunday to run the streets. Our careers demanded a lot of our time and energy but my priorities shifted over time.... I thought I could still function the same pace as I have before....NOT.

Let me rewind...

As you know I've been back to work since the end of October. I was on maternity leave for nearly 5 months and I find myself back to the daily grind full time before you know it. I even went back to school to get certified. What was I thinking huh?! I feel like there's isn't enough time in a day to accomplish every little thing I needed to do... Sometimes Calgon can't always take me away. Being a new mama has brought a lot of new challenges to the table. I have finally learned how to slow down and take a break. My new philosophy "if you can't do it today, it will be there tomorrow". Yes, there are days I really NEED to get a load of laundry done or rearrange my closet to feel like I have accomplished something, but I have learned to make adjustments especially on a busy schedule like ours.

Sometimes it takes a little boy to pull on your apron strings to realize what's important...and put it in perspective.

Our Night Owl

I use to go without or little sleep through my college years. Now that I'm much older, I don't get enough of it! We're sleep challenged especially with our new addition to our family.

As my husband would say "he's just checkin' on us" (but throughout the night??)... yea...right.

One night, little J could not fall back asleep . He climbed out of bed and wandered around the house. My husband handed him a flashlight to make it easier for him to navigate in the dark. At least we knew where he was at in the house.

Why force him to sleep when he's not ready to. He will only be more irritated and miserable and believe me, when he's not happy, we're ALL not happy. It will only take him longer to get him back to sleep. So, why not join in on the fun?

Elmo has saved us many times at 3:00AM.
It is Elmo's world...at least for now. la-la-la la la la...
